There are several good lithium upgrade options on the market. Each option has its pros and cons. We ultimately went with Lithionics as our lithium power solution in both our Leisure Travel Vans Unity FX and Airstream Globetrotter. Why? Incredible quality, industry leading performance & amazing customer service. And with the built-in heater and built-in Bluetooth there is no need for aftermarket components like smart shunts, warming blankets, etc.
However, the biggest selling point was having the most power capacity that fits in the small footprint of Leisure Travel Vans. We get 320ah of usable capacity in the space designed for 100ah of usable AGM or 200ah of Leisure’s available lithium batteries. The Lithionics 320ah has a massive 150 - 200 max amp charge allowance & powerful 150 - 230 max discharge allowence making this battery a compact powerhouse capable of virtually anything you can throw at it.
Lithium Technology has created a lot of power in a much smaller footprint. Today, you can easily add 300, 400 even 640+ amp hour batteries even in small RVs, such as a Leisure Travel Van.
Have a larger RV such as an Airstream or fifth wheel? The sky is the limit, allowing people willing to invest in their off-grid life to be able to power the air conditioner and everything they need virtually indefinitely.
With enhanced alternator charging, solar and shore power / generator charging, fast charging is possible with the correct upgrades.

Only know the watts of your appliance or gadget? Simply divide watts by voltage (12) to find the amps.
Keep in mind, if you plan on running your A/C on battery, full blast will drain it quickly. We set thermostat to cycle on and off to maximize our time on battery.

This is our battery of choice for its capacity, features and footprint. The equivalent of SIX AGM or THREE Traditional sized Lithium in the space allowed for two in LTVs.

On / Off Switch
Upgrading to a 3000W inverter requires placing an on/off switch between inverter & battery to help resist high capacitive in rush. Plus it’s never not a good idea to have one.

Lithionics Battery® uses an organic Lithium-ion Iron Phosphate chemistry in all of their lithium battery models. This naturally safe chemistry is paired with an internal shut down curtain technology inside each lithium cell, preventing any flame or explosion from thermal runaway events. During use, the NeverDie® Battery Management System is continually monitoring each lithium cell every second to ensure the safest operation of your system.

The Lithionics 320ah battery with 4032 watt hours is smaller than two traditional sized batteries, giving you the equivalent of 3.3 batteries in the space of two. And the 630ah beast has 8064 watt hours with dimensions of 20.3”x12.3”x10.6”. Simply amazing.

Lithionics Battery’s NeverDie® Battery Management System is a proprietary design featuring protective safety features, as well as status and state-of-charge monitoring. The NeverDie® Battery Management System is standard on all Lithionics Battery® systems to ensure your lithium batteries are operated within their rated specifications.
This increases the lifespan of your battery system and protects your valuable investment. Unlike many competitors which offer lower quality MOSFET based BMS designs, Lithionics Battery® uses heavy duty contactors for BMS on/off switching controlled by a custom microprocessor. This allows for continuous current ratings of up to 400A to match the high performance of your lithium battery module.

The Lithionics 320 Ah GTX battery features a specialized construction that includes the NeverDie® Battery Management System (BMS) with Bluetooth monitoring, internal heating for low-temperature charging, and a pushbutton on/off switch.
It also incorporates CANbus telemetry for advanced communication and a remote control switch for easy management. This robust design enhances safety, performance, and user convenience, making it suitable for demanding applications.
